Full Job Description Assistant Controller Core Hours:

The Assistant Controller provides financial and accounting system management oversight, administrative, planning, and analysis support, and recommendations for Schupan Beverage Recycling (SBR).
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
Directly manage SBR's inventory control process — verification, tracking, and proper valuation Prepare and review all of SBR's divisional financial statements and processes to ensure accurate, timely distribution Provide SBR management with timely reviews of the division's financial status and progress Evaluate SBR's accounting and control processes, working with operations on continuous improvement strategies Provide budget file support Audit fixed assets as assigned Reconcile all of SBR's Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis and provide all necessary year-end audit schedules for the annual audit Maintain SBR's general ledger accounts Manage SBR's Daily Sales Report for upper management Serve as bank back-up for SBR's ACH approvals and POS pay Interact in person with peers and management for the duration of the shift Handle high-stress situations effectively Travel by air, rail, car, etc. based on the most efficient and effective mode of travel to accomplish goals and objectives Perform other duties as assigned Maintain regular and predictable attendance Exhibit behaviors that reflect the company's core values: Integrity, Empowerment, Sustainability & Compassion
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Basic requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 5-7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong experience/knowledge in bank reconciliations, inventory control, and budgeting Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Advanced knowledge of Excel Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to apply analytical skills to all financial statements, comparing current year performance versus prior year and budget Teambuilding skills in developing relationships with the finance department, fellow assistant controllers, and company executives Ability to function effectively both independently and collaboratively with all levels of the organization Physical requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and talk or hear Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
Pay:
$80,000-$95,000/year, commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibility and benefits
Schedule:
