Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations for a pharmacy division within a privately held organization in Nassau County New York. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing month-end activities, and delivering clear insight into financial performance. The position also provides day-to-day leadership to a small accounting team and works closely with external accounting partners to support reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee profit and loss reporting, analyze balance sheet activity, and monitor the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Manage the month-end and period-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to support efficient cash flow and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Partner with external accounting advisors to address reporting needs, compliance matters, and audit-related requests.
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting staff, setting priorities and maintaining high standards for daily operations.
  • Use NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to support reporting, perform financial analysis, and maintain accounting documentation.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and provide insight into operating results for division leadership.
