Backed by strong leadership and a history of operational excellence, the company is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a hands-on finance leader to build scalable processes, strengthen financial infrastructure, and serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership team while helping position the organization for continued growth and operational excellence. Position Summary Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will lead all accounting, financial planning and analysis, government contract compliance, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and risk management functions across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong manufacturing accounting expertise, extensive government contracting knowledge, and a proven ability to implement systems, improve processes, and drive financial insights that support business growth. In addition to overseeing traditional accounting functions, this individual will be responsible for enhancing financial reporting capabilities, strengthening internal controls, supporting ERP initiatives, improving operational performance metrics, and ensuring full compliance with government contracting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategic Planning Lead all accounting and finance operations across the organization. Serve as a key strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team. Drive financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range business planning initiatives. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve visibility into operational and financial performance. Provide proactive financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Partner with operational leadership to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and profitability enhancement. Government Contracting & Compliance Lead all government contract accounting and compliance activities. Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA, and other applicable government contracting regulations. Oversee contract pricing, indirect rate calculations, cost accounting standards, and contract performance analysis. Support government audits and maintain documentation required for compliance reviews. Partner with program and operational leaders to ensure contract profitability and effective financial management throughout the contract lifecycle. Establish and maintain internal controls necessary to support government contracting requirements. Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, job costing, and manufacturing reporting processes. Analyze labor, material, overhead, and production variances to improve profitability and operational performance. Collaborate with operations leaders to establish meaningful manufacturing metrics and performance reporting. Support inventory management initiatives and working capital optimization efforts. Drive financial visibility into production activities across multiple locations and business units. Accounting & Financial Reporting Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Maintain integrity of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Manage relationships with banking, tax, insurance, and other external business partners. Oversee payroll administration and treasury functions.
