We are a Transportation and Logistics company, an employer of choice with a family friendly culture and flexible work schedule. This position would report to the VP of Finance and overseeing the responsibilities of the Accounting and Billing Departments. A BS/BA and 10 or more years of experience in accounting are required; CPA certification is preferred. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, excellent communications skills, and experience in working with multiple companies and intercompany transactions. Duties and Responsibilities Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure for multiple companies Analyze the monthly financial statement and report them to the President and the VP of Finance Assist with monthly closing process and financial statement preparation, as needed Prepare periodic governmental, regulatory, and insurance filings, returns, and compliance reports Oversee the Accounts Payable department, including processing A/P transactions Participate in periodic meetings focused on Operations and Key Performance Indicators Respond to inquiries from the President and the VP of Finance regarding financial results Along with the VP of Finance, manage banking and other key vendor relationships Perform analysis for the President and the VP of Finance, as requested Prepare insurance audits and gathering information for insurance renewals Supervise the Accounting and Billing Departments while supporting other departments when necessary Participate in periodic meetings regarding Accounts Receivable and Collections Oversee and prepare schedules for the annual audit/review with our outside accounting firm Work with the VP of Finance to secure equipment loans Rectify any issues Billing staff or Accounting team may have with the Operations, Sales, Safety or Maintenance teams Oversee the annual preparation of 1099s Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required Skills and Qualifications Education BS/BA in accounting is required CPA preferred Technical Skills and Prior Experience 10 plus years of experience in Accounting with supervisory experience are required Must be highly skilled in financial analysis with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining exceptional accuracy Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Experience with intercompany transactions Willingness to be a team player - doing whatever is necessary to get the job done AS/400 and Quickbooks knowledge a plus Trucking industry experience a plus
