This role is responsible for producing accurate, timely financial information; maintaining effective internal controls; managing cash flow; and strengthening project-level visibility through disciplined job costing and work-in-progress reporting. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions, including Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Payroll accounting, Fixed assets, Job costing and Revenue recognition.
• Own the monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with

U.S. GAAP.

• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts and ensure consistent accounting treatment across projects.
• Develop key performance indicators for backlog, gross margin, cash flow, overhead, working capital, and project performance.
• Provide strategic financial input to the operations team.
• Lead job-cost accounting and work-in-progress reporting, including cost-to-complete estimates.
• Oversee contract billing, retainage, collections, and subcontractor payments.
• Identify, track and establish direct and indirect costs, equipment costs, and SG&A for project estimating.
• Manage cash flow, credit facilities, and working-capital requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with banks, sureties, and tax professionals, and prepare reporting required for bonding and lending.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax, payroll, licensing, and other business filings.
• Design, document, and monitor internal controls.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts; provide scenario analysis to support business planning and growth decisions.
• Evaluate and improve accounting workflows, policies, technology, and reporting tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate across accounting, operations and human resources.
• Perform additional financial analysis and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in construction accounting for a general contractor, specialty contractor, or similarly project-based business.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
• Proficient in use of software products such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High degree of integrity and accountability. Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Experience with job cost accounting and work-in-progress schedules.
• Experience with Sage, Foundation, or other relevant systems.
• Familiarity with surety bonding and bank reporting.
• Familiarity with and contractor licensing requirements. Core Competencies
