BachelorsResponsibilities Independently key, reconcile, process, and manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, invoicing, collections, and vendor payments. Clean up and resolve a historical backlog of unfiled state tax returns, liaise directly with the Mississippi Department of Revenue, and successfully execute the plant's tax-exemption application process. Master and manage ongoing Mississippi Sales and Use Tax compliance, calculations, and reporting requirements. Calculate Net Realizable Value (NRV), perform aging and slow-moving stock analyses, identify inventory obsolescence, and maintain reserve schedules (debiting COGS and crediting Allowance for Obsolete Inventory). Drive timely month-end and year-end closes, process journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and balance inter-company accounts. Rapidly learn and utilize our proprietary manufacturing ERP system to handle warehouse and plant accounting operations. Qualifications Proven experience operating as a working, hands-on accountant or controller within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Recent, verifiable track record of personally handling high-volume, full-cycle AP and AR journal entries and reconciliations (not just overseeing team members). Advanced knowledge and practical execution of Mississippi Sales and Use Tax laws, filings, and state audit/backlog resolution. Expertise in calculating NRV, inventory aging analyses, and managing obsolescence reserve schedules.
