Job Description

Milkco, Inc. is a Fluid Milk Plant. We process, bottle, and ship fluid milk, juice, tea, and eggnog. Established in 1982 with 50 employees, the plant has grown to 250+. Our employees enjoy steady, stable work without the risk of layoffs. Milkco is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our team at Milkco. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of our organization. You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires strong leadership skills and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory valuation, cost accounting, and fixed asset management.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
Cost Analysis:
Perform cost analysis to identify areas of cost savings, improve profitability, and optimize production processes.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, procurement, and sales, to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and facilitate effective communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desired. Proven work experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with financial reporting and analysis. Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems (SAP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and experience in cost analysis. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
