Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Controller to lead our financial oversight and accounting functions within our construction projects. Duties Oversee all financial activities related to construction projects, including budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Coordinate with project managers to develop detailed budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures throughout project lifecycles. Ensure regulatory compliance accounting standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and specific governmental accounting requirements are met. Lead the preparation of financial reports, including project cost reports, cash flow statements, and regulatory filings for internal and external stakeholders. Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections aligned with contractual obligations. Conduct financial analysis using spreadsheets and Excel data analysis tools to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements. Manage treasury functions including cash management, banking relationships, and forecasting to optimize liquidity across projects. Oversee the financial close process at month-end and year-end, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and documented. Lead a team of accounting professionals dedicated to corporate accounting functions within the construction division. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or project-based accounting with a strong understanding of technical accounting principles such as

GAAP, IFRS, SOX

compliance, and governmental regulations. Demonstrated expertise in financial software systems used in construction finance management; proficiency in spreadsheets and Excel data analysis is essential. Strong background in managing accounting teams with excellent leadership skills; experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously is preferred. Knowledge of cost accounting analysis, budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting specific to the construction industry. Familiarity with public accounting standards as they relate to non-profit or governmental entities is a plus. Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and account analysis efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards. Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial report writing and presenting complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable.
