This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead multi dealership accounting operations, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support strategic decision-making within a fast-paced automotive environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles and compliance, combined with hands-on experience in dealership-specific financial processes. Join us to contribute your expertise in managing complex financial data for 4 dealerships, streamlining reporting procedures, and driving operational excellence. Duties Oversee all aspects of dealership accounting functions, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and deal processing. Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory standards. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including account analysis, journal entries, and audit preparations. Ensure compliance with governmental regulations related to financial reporting for automotive dealerships. Conduct detailed account reconciliations using accounting software; perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies. Support budgeting processes by providing insightful financial analysis and forecasts that inform strategic planning initiatives. Collaborate with the Warranty team to assist in aligning with Manufacturers expectations for each dealership. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and best practices to enhance internal controls and reporting accuracy. Requirements Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or senior accounting role within an automotive dealership environment. Strong understanding of compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-automotive dealership accounting procedures. Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation procedures. Proficiency with accounting systems and automotive CRM software. Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements specific to the automotive industry and dealership operations. Excellent analytical skills combined with a solid grasp of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, forecasting, budgeting, and technical accounting principles. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments.
