!Connect with Casey Wiggin on LI to discuss furtherWe are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for our organization in New Hampshire. This role involves managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and preparing financial statements and reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a background in construction accounting.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, job costing, and general ledger management.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and financial reports.
  • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax reports for multiple states.
  • Assist with annual audits by creating schedules, reconciling payroll data, and ensuring alignment with general ledger accounts.
  • Develop and present monthly financial reporting packages for management review.
  • Create job costing reports using tools like Power BI or Excel to support financial decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting policies, workflows, and procedures for improved efficiency.
  • Address tax notices, letters, and requests for information, conducting research to resolve issues effectively.
  • Support the integration of new accounting systems and ensure seamless transitions as needed.
  • Collaborate with management on special projects and provide financial insights to support business operations.
