Overview:
The Controller will serve as a key member of the finance leadership team, owning the integrity of the company's financial operations and reporting. This is a hands-on role overseeing the full accounting function, with responsibility for delivering timely, accurate financials in a product-driven, multi-channel environment with both domestic and international activity. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will manage day-to-day accounting, including general ledger, inventory, and cash management, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements. The Controller will also lead audit efforts, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements to support a scalable infrastructure. This role partners closely with leadership across operations, sales, and supply chain to provide financial insights, improve visibility into performance, and support strategic initiatives. The position includes oversight of a small team and select international entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger management Manage inventory accounting, costing methodologies, and related analysis Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning Lead annual audit and coordinate with external auditors and advisors Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance frameworks Drive process improvements to shorten close timelines and enhance reporting accuracy Partner cross-functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a high-performance team environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience CPA preferred Background in product-based or inventory-intensive environments Strong understanding of financial reporting, inventory, and cash flow management Experience leading teams and improving processes Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar tools Track record of stability and growth in prior roles
