Job Description
Friends of Cyrus II has been a trusted provider of services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across New Jersey. Rooted in compassion, advocacy, and a person-centered philosophy, we empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives through meaningful day programming, community integration, and skill-building opportunities. We operate three vibrant day programs in Burlington and Monmouth Counties, and we are seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to guide these services into the future. The Vice President of Day Services is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for the overall operation, quality, and growth of our three day programs. This role provides oversight to program directors, ensures regulatory compliance, advances person-centered practices, and works collaboratively with the executive team to uphold the organization's mission. The ideal candidate brings a deep commitment to the IDD community, knowledge of state regulations, operational excellence, and a track record of positive staff leadership and program innovation. Leadership & Strategic Direction Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for day services, aligning program goals with the organization's mission and long-term objectives. Lead, mentor, and support Program Directors and supervisory staff across three locations, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and accountability. Partner with the CEO and executive team in planning, and strategic business development. Maintain expert-level knowledge of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations, Medicaid requirements, and other applicable standards. Lead the preparation for audits, surveys, and monitoring visits; implement corrective action plans as needed. Ensure timely and accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping across all sites. Education & Experience Master's degree required; MBA, rehabilitation counseling, social work, public administration, or related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in day services, vocational rehabilitation, or community-based programs for individuals with IDD. At least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing multi-site operations, budgets, and staff. Experience with NJ DDD regulatory requirements and Medicaid/HCBS is strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Proven ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and a person-center philosophy. Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, financial management, and program expansion. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated problem-solving, crisis management, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with electronic health records/data management systems.
