Type:
full-time Our client, a prominent real estate owner, developer, and operator with a long history of success in NYC, is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead a team in the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of corporate and upper-tier companies, trusts, treasury, and payroll functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead the monthly GL close, preparation of workpapers, intercompany reconciliations, and financial statements across various corporate and upper-tier entities. Manage the accounting, payroll, and treasury teams in daily accounting operations and the monthly close process. Lead cash forecasting, capital planning, and liquidity management for all corporate entities. Manage the tax return process, including the preparation of estimates, and assist the SVP in managing tax forecasting. Review management and fee calculations and monitor cost allocations across corporate and upper-tier entities. Assist in the preparation of annual corporate budgets and collaborate with the real estate accounting team to ensure accurate and timely information. Assist in the annual audit process, manage interim work, and issue timely workpapers, audit report templates, and footnotes. Partner with legal, transactions, and operations teams to streamline reporting and support strategic initiatives. Serve as an advocate and catalyst for the company's dedicated environmental sustainability and corporate stewardship initiatives, practically integrating sustainability metrics into financial processes and business practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting; CPA preferred. 10+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting principles. Strong knowledge of workpapers, corporate entity and loan structures, and corporate accounting operations. Strong systems aptitude with a track record of driving process improvement and automation. High proficiency in Microsoft Office and general ledger software. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent analytical and quantitative abilities, and a strong drive to meet strict deadlines. Experience with Yardi, MRI or a similar system.
