The ideal candidate will assist the CFO in directing the organization's accounting functions, including cost, payables, reporting, and compliance. This role supports the financial operations of the company, ensures adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and contributes to the organization's overall financial health. Experience in non-profit or governmental accounting and proficiency with accounting software such as Sage and TimberScan are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Help prepare and review monthly WIP schedules and closings with the CFO. Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting and required legal filings. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures. Oversee accounts payable , including AP check processing and reconciliation. Conduct general ledger reconciliations and account analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies. Assist in budget preparation and provide input into financial planning. Support billing and tax documentation preparation . Collaborate with the financial team to design and maintain internal controls and accounting policies. Coordinate with auditors during audits and reviews. Train and support accounting staff as needed. Experience & Skills Proven experience in public, corporate, or non-profit accounting. Strong understanding of account reconciliation, debits & credits , and double-entry bookkeeping . Familiarity with cash management practices . Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team environment.
