Job:
The Financial Controller, Americas will lead day-to-day accounting operations for the company's Americas business and report to the Director of Finance. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for financial close, accounting operations, internal controls, inventory and cost accounting, audit support and development of the accounting team. The Controller will oversee a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable team while partnering closely with finance, operations and plant leadership. The company is also in the early stages of a multi-year ERP transition from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Business Central, and this person will play an important role in that implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close activities and ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inventory and intercompany activity. Manage and develop the accounting and Accounts Payable teams. Partner with manufacturing leadership on inventory, cost accounting, cycle counts and operational accounting issues. Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes. Support the company's ERP implementation and related systems improvements. Coordinate audit requirements and maintain appropriate accounting documentation and controls.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibility. Manufacturing accounting experience with exposure to inventory and cost accounting. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close and internal controls. Experience working within a complex, high-volume accounting environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage deadlines, improve processes and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. CPA/MBA and ERP implementation experience are a plus.
Compensation:
$125,000 - $130,000 base salary plus bonus
