Job Title:
Financial Controller Company/Industry:
Well-established mortgage lender
Location:
Melville, NY Salary:
$100,000 - $130,000/yr depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Status:
DIRECT HIRE, FT, On-site Mon-Fri Position Overview:
The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the business, including payroll, AP/AR, billing, cash management, reconciliation, expense reporting, and monthly closes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily accounting operations (payables, receivables, billing)
  • Process payroll and ensure timely & accurate compensation reporting
  • Monitor and track money in/money out
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and internal ledger accounts
  • Manage vendor payments and invoices
  • Maintain organized financial records and reporting files
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities
  • Assist in creating/maintaining accounting SOPs and process documentation
  • Coordinate with internal departments for financial data integrity
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required
  • Mortgage banking accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with AP/AR, payroll processing, and general ledger management
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software + spreadsheets
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and follow-through Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $100,000.
