Position Summary This position is part of the Company's administrative business unit. As an integral member of the administrative team, the Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting and financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. This position manages the day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, cash management, accounts payable, payroll, and internal controls. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful financial analysis and support strategic decision-making. In a medical practice environment, the Controller will also oversee financial aspects of the revenue cycle, including provider productivity reporting, and reimbursement trends. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements and present them to the board of directors. Prepare in-depth departmental and individual patient service analysis. Prepare quarterly sales tax returns Coordinate tax planning and year-end corporate tax return with outside accounting firm. Manage accounts payable and vendor contracts Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Manage commercial insurance policies and work with brokers on renewals Work closely with medical billing director on various revenue cycle items. Monitor financial performance throughout the year and identify trends and opportunities. Manage operating cash flow and banking relationship Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor's degree and 8 years of progressive accounting leadership Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations. Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials, and demonstrate good judgment. Prior experience in healthcare preferred Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed throughout the workday. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and other office technology. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence. Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, solve complex problems, and make independent decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing organizational needs in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive and confidential information.
