  • Competitive Salary PLUS bonus Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to support the financial operations of a large, multi-state organization with diverse business operations and a growing national footprint.
This role partners closely with executive leadership to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, compliance, and process improvements while leading and mentoring the accounting team. The Controller will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, improving efficiencies, and supporting continued organizational growth. Responsibilities (must have multi-state experience in high volume transactions)
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close activities
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • Assist executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage accounting functions including accounts payable, inventory accounting, tax reporting, and cash management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support departmental success
  • Monitor and improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes
  • Coordinate annual audits and work directly with external auditors and financial partners
  • Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and operational growth projects as needed
  • Provide leadership recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience managing audits, compliance, and multi-entity accounting operations
  • Proven ability to improve accounting processes and lead financial projects
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software systems and financial reporting tools
  • Background supporting acquisitions, integrations, or business growth initiatives is a plus
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
