Job Description

Kyle Clarke with Robert Half of Buffalo has partnered with a local client who is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations and provide strong financial leadership for the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual who can guide accurate reporting, manage the monthly close process, and support sound budgeting and control practices. The Controller will play a key part in maintaining financial integrity while helping leadership make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting activities to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with established standards
  • Lead the month-end close cycle, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Oversee the general ledger and verify that balance sheet accounts are properly analyzed and resolved on a timely basis
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and related reports for management use and decision-making
  • Develop, monitor, and refine internal controls and accounting procedures to strengthen compliance and reduce risk
  • Coordinate budgeting support and assist leadership with tracking financial performance against plans and forecasts
  • Manage document organization, scanning, and record compilation to maintain accessible and well-structured financial files
  • Support ongoing improvements to accounting workflows, including updates to processes and documentation where needed
