Job Description

This confidential company has been developing and manufacturing advanced silicone and hybrid products for thirty years at our headquarters in Mentor, Ohio. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller to serve as a key member of the leadership team and trusted business partner to ownership. This is far more than a traditional accounting role. The Controller will act as the financial and operational right hand to the Owner, helping drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term growth across the organization. This position will oversee all accounting and financial functions while also playing an active role in purchasing, inventory management, production reporting, operational analysis, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable reviewing financial statements, analyzing manufacturing costs, collaborating with operations, and helping shape the future direction of the company.
What You'll Do:
 Lead all accounting and financial operations, including monthly and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management  Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and key performance indicators  Serve as a strategic business partner to the President and leadership team, providing insight and recommendations that support growth and profitability  Oversee purchasing, inventory, and production reporting to ensure accurate costing and operational efficiency  Manage all cost accounting activities and maintain accurate product costing across manufacturing operations  Analyze production costs, margins, labor utilization, inventory levels, and operational performance  Provide daily visibility into production results, profitability, and operational metrics  Continue optimization and rollout of additional modules within the company's Deacom ERP system  Work closely with the VP of Sales to support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and business planning  Maintain relationships with banking partners, insurance providers, CPA firms, and other external business advisors  Partner with Human Resources and leadership on compensation planning, benefits administration, and organizational initiatives  Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and profitability enhancement  Participate in strategic planning and help guide key business decisions that impact the future of the organization
What You'll Need:
 Strong cost accounting experience with a deep understanding of product costing and inventory valuation  Experience overseeing financial operations within a manufacturing environment  ERP system experience; Deacom experience preferred  Proven ability to analyze financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable recommendations  Excellent communication and leadership skills  Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, executive leadership, and external business partners  Strategic mindset combined with a willingness to remain hands-on in day-to-day operations  Strong decision-making abilities and sound business judgment

$75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
