Controller:
Oversee all daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statements, and other monthly financial reporting Manage payroll processing, payroll tax filings, W-2 preparation, and payroll compliance requirements Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements Oversee inventory accounting and implement improved inventory control and processes Maintain fixed asset records and ensure accurate tracking of company assets Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Create and manage an annual accounting calendar to ensure timely completion of all financial deadlines Partner with leadership to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis Support ERP system utilization and recommend process improvements Provide leadership and guidance to accounting support staff while remaining willing to perform day-to-day accounting responsibilities as needed Requirements of the
Controller :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant role Strong hands-on experience with payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and year-end reporting Experience managing inventory accounting within a manufacturing, distribution, equipment rental, wholesale, construction, or similar inventory-driven environment Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience implementing or improving accounting processes and internal controls Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; ERP experience preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Confident communicator who can build relationships, influence change, and navigate a dynamic business environment Willingness to work primarily onsite in Sandusky with occasional travel to the satellite location as needed What's in it for you ?
