115-130,000/yr + Bonus Job Purpose This leadership position is responsible for leading the company's accounting and financial operations, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing daily accounting functions, managing cash flow, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements. The Controller will also assess accounting and internal control systems while guiding and mentoring departmental staff. As a key member of the leadership team, the Controller will partner closely with ownership and department leaders to drive operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth while preserving the company's values and service standards. Duties & Responsibilities Safeguard company assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions by implementing internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments. Manage the accuracy and productivity of daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory, fixed assets, general accounting, and entity accounting. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes and analysis of financial results. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports to achieve short- and long-term goals. Develop, improve, and deliver timely monthly financial reporting and key metrics to the CFO and other company officers. Partner closely with operations and department leaders to support business objectives. Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial data across all systems. Manage daily cash flow and develop cash flow projections for the President and CFO. Partner with the accounting team on the annual budgeting process, including revenue and expense planning. Ensure financial plans and budgets align with organizational goals. Provide financial analysis and modeling to evaluate business ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, and other initiatives. Assist the CFO in managing commercial banking and borrowing relationships to maintain appropriate credit resources. Develop a strong understanding of ERP systems to support the accounting team, investigate issues, and resolve system-related accounting challenges. Coordinate and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and lessors. Provide financial leadership across the organization, promoting Finance as a trusted and collaborative business partner. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines. Ability to work effectively with senior executives while mentoring and developing accounting team members. Proven experience managing and motivating teams through measurable goals and objectives. Recent ERP system implementation experience is a plus. Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
