Job Description

Job Purpose The Financial Controller is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company policies and procedures. This role involves supervising a team of accountants, overseeing financial activities such as financial analysis, and providing strategic guidance to management.
Duties and Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets. Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to support decision-making.
Supervision and Team Management:
Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations. Review and enhance controls as needed.
Tax Compliance:
Oversee tax planning and compliance activities and coordinate with external CPA firms.
Audit Coordination:
Coordinate external audits and provide support to auditors as needed. Address audit findings and implement recommendations for improvement.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identify trends, and assess the financial health of the company.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting department. Implement changes to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including management, partners, and external parties
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
