General Manager / Dealer Principal Position Summary The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all dealership finance and insurance (F&I) operations while ensuring an exceptional customer experience and maximizing dealership profitability. This leadership role manages finance production, lender relationships, compliance, product sales, and the development of the finance team. The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive finance professional with strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills. Primary Responsibilities Manage all Finance & Insurance operations for the dealership. Structure vehicle financing through banks, credit unions, and manufacturer lending sources. Present and sell finance and insurance products, including vehicle service contracts, GAP, maintenance plans, tire & wheel protection, and other aftermarket products. Ensure every customer receives a transparent and professional finance presentation. Maintain strong relationships with lending institutions and secure competitive financing options. Monitor finance penetration, product penetration, reserve income, and profitability. Review and ensure all deal paperwork is accurate, complete, and submitted promptly. Maintain compliance with federal, state, manufacturer, and dealership regulations. Train, mentor, and develop Finance Managers and Sales Managers. Work closely with the General Sales Manager and Sales Team to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability. Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently. Analyze monthly financial performance and establish improvement strategies. Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores while achieving dealership profitability goals. Ensure all deals are funded quickly and contracts are processed accurately. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of automotive finance management experience preferred. Proven record of strong F&I production and product penetration. Strong knowledge of automotive lending, compliance, and dealership finance software. Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills. Leadership experience managing and coaching finance personnel. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, RouteOne, or similar dealership management systems. Experience working with multiple lending institutions. Knowledge of federal and state automotive compliance laws. Experience with manufacturer incentive programs and dealership profitability metrics. $90,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
