Finance Director - Automotive Dealership Join Our Team as a positive and energetic Finance Director Are you a proven automotive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping customers secure financing while maximizing dealership profitability? We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead our Finance & Insurance (F&I) operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Position Summary The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all dealership finance operations, securing lender approvals, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, maximizing product penetration, and developing a high-performing finance team. This position works closely with sales management, lenders, and customers to achieve dealership goals while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of dealership finance and insurance operations. Structure and submit deals to lenders for approval. Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions. Present finance and protection products to customers. Ensure all deal paperwork is accurate, complete, and compliant. Monitor finance reserve, product penetration, and profitability metrics. Train, coach, and mentor finance managers and sales staff. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and lender regulations. Review contracts and funding packages for accuracy. Resolve funding and lender stipulation issues promptly. Collaborate with sales management to improve dealership performance. Maintain excellent customer satisfaction scores. Engage actively with sales staff and provide great communication. Involvement on the floor when needed. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of automotive F&I experience required. Prior Finance Director or Finance Manager experience preferred. Strong understanding of lender programs and automotive financing. Proven track record of achieving finance and product sales goals. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to work nights, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed. High level of integrity and professionalism. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Preferred Skills Experience with dealership CRM and DMS systems such as Dealertrack, CDK & Vin Solutions. Knowledge of compliance regulations, including Truth in Lending, Red Flags, OFAC, and privacy laws. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
