Job Description
Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to provide financial leadership for a mission-driven non-profit organization in Oregon. This role will oversee core accounting operations, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support sound decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, steady leadership, and the ability to manage a reliable month-end close process in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily accounting activities and guide the organization's financial operations with accuracy and consistency.
- Direct the month-end close process, ensuring timelines are met and financial results are thoroughly reviewed.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation for leadership and board-level review.
- Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures that promote compliance, transparency, and effective stewardship of funds.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, setting clear expectations and supporting growth within the team.
- Partner with organizational leaders to develop budgets, monitor performance, and provide practical financial insight for planning.
- Coordinate audits and assist with external reporting requirements by organizing records and responding to requests efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and strengthen the effectiveness of financial processes.
