OVERVIEW OF THE CORPORATE CONTROLLER ROLE
Provide executive leadership for all accounting and finance operations, including general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end/year-end close. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insight that supports operational and long-term business objectives. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and other financial partners. Improve working capital through effective oversight of cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Drive financial process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and financial reporting tools that provide actionable business insights. Support mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, and other strategic initiatives. Collaborate with operational leaders across multiple business units to improve financial performance and organizational effectiveness. Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and adherence to accounting best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CORPORATE CONTROLLER
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA designation strongly preferred. 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience. Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting leadership experience strongly preferred. Previous experience serving as a Controller, Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance, or similar executive finance leader. Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit management. Proven experience leading organizational growth, financial system implementations, and process improvement initiatives. Strong executive presence with exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Experience partnering with senior executives to influence strategic business decisions. Ability to travel occasionally to regional business locations. #
