Job Description

Pro Signs, a 77-year-old signage and branding company based near Philadelphia, PA. We are seeking a Full Time, In Person, Controller to our team. As one of the largest full-service sign companies in the Mid-Atlantic, Pro Signs specializes in regional and national account work as well as local architectural signage projects. Pro Signs is supported by a dedicated team of Project Managers, designers, hard-working fabricators and installers and are looking to add a Controller to our team who wants to grow with the company and help take us to the next level. Preferred candidates will have 5 years' experience in manufacturing industries. Signage experience is preferred. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Monthly Close
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and issued in a timely manner. Reporting
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statement packages including, Income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, KPI's. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Coordinate the annual / quarterly budgets process and provide monthly rolling forecasts to help guide strategic decision-making. Overhead Audit and Analysis
  • Review Overhead and provide actionable drilled in reporting to upper management for review. Cost Accounting & Operations Standard Costing
  • Maintain and update standard costs for labor, materials, and overhead.
Perform regular variance analysis to identify and correct inefficiencies.
Inventory Control:
Oversee perpetual inventory systems and lead physical inventory counts or cycle-counting programs to ensure accuracy.
Margin Analysis:
Analyze product-line profitability and manufacturing margins to advise on pricing strategies and cost-reduction opportunities. Manage
  • AR and AP team members.
Unsure collections, invoicing and payables are on track.
Internal Controls & Compliance Audit Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and ensure all tax filings (federal, state, and local) are completed correctly.
Risk Mitigation:
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow, manage debt covenants (if applicable), and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Employee Relations Oversee Company HR & Safety Officer Employee benefits Corporate insurance renewals (workers' compensation, general liability, auto, umbrella) Annual Reporting Payroll, ACA, 401k compliance, employee benefit plans Prevailing Wage Audits
  • Ensure prevailing wage is paid out appropriately at each payroll. Additional Experience Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Certification
  • CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred for this level of responsibility. Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling). Direct experience managing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Epicor). Leadership
  • Proven track record of managing an accounting team and collaborating with cross-functional department heads (Production, Sales, HR).
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of GAAP and specialized knowledge of manufacturing cost structures.
