Interim Controller Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (Hybrid after Training) $40/hour Why This Opportunity Stands Out Join a mission-driven nonprofit making a direct impact on the Pittsburgh community Opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership and present financial information to the Board Lead and mentor a small accounting team while driving financial operations Mix of strategic planning and hands-on accounting responsibilities Help improve financial processes, internal controls, and reporting Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and organizational financial strategy Collaborative culture with leadership that values employee contributions Interim Controller Key Responsibilities The Interim Controller will oversee month-end and year-end close, general ledger, and account reconciliations Prepare monthly financial reports, including budget-to-actual analyses and grant reporting Manage grant and contract financial reporting and compliance The Interim Controller will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Coordinate audits, Form 990 preparation, and regulatory filings The Interim Controller will supervise accounting staff and ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations Preferred Qualifications for the Interim Controller Role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience Strong grant accounting and grant management experience CPA preferred EB-1972039810
