Controller - Manufacturing Modern Industries, Inc. - 2.8 Erie, PA Job Details 21 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Cost accounting analysis Microsoft Excel Bachelor's degree Accounting experience within manufacturing industry Productivity software Manufacturing company experience Full Job Description Controller We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee financial operations within our manufacturing divisions, operations of the Accounting Department, and Accounting Department staff to maintain the Company's financial health through costing analysis, inventory valuation, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) administrative support, journal entries, account reconciliations and other information as needed. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with government contracts, accurate financial reporting, and strategic cost management. Key Responsibilities Open and close jobs in a timely manner and provide relevant costing information. Analyze completed jobs for efficiency and profitability. Preparing financial statements, including journal entries, and ensuring they meet industry standards, management requirements, and accounting principles. Verify standard costs for Material to last purchased cost and roll up costs, as necessary. Participate in the annual audit and coordinate internal reviews and external audit as well as the 401(k) audit. Coordinate year-end physical inventory counts, system adjustments needed, and year-end costing of inventory on hand. Assist with budgeting and developing financial reporting and planning systems. Reconcile inventory counts to ERP stock status reporting. Track fixed asset additions and dispositions and prepare monthly depreciation journal entries. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly. Reconcile long term debt balances to general ledger and update long term debt schedule. Provide additional assistance with the accounting functions such as managing cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll as needed. Maintain controls to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Complete and file all North American Free Trade Agreement certifications and quarterly Ohio Commercial Activity Tax as required. Complete and submit all required government census reports. Hiring, teaching and developing staff, and training them in Company procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting. Strong knowledge of government contract compliance and reporting standards. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities Experience with the General Ledger System "Epicor" is highly preferred.

Strong computer skills and experience with Manufacturing Accounting and Practices (Epicor, Kinetics, Bluestreak, QuickBooks, or similar) Previous successful work history in a similar or related role.
