Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Comptroller/Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations for a wholesale distribution organization. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening reporting processes, and providing leadership with meaningful insight into financial performance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to guide a team while supporting both day-to-day operations and broader business objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, cash activity, and period-end close processes.
  • Produce and evaluate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Establish, refine, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures that support reliable operations.
  • Track cash flow, working capital, and budget performance while identifying trends that affect the organization's financial position.
  • Lead planning efforts related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support informed business decisions.
  • Partner with external auditors and tax professionals to manage audits, filings, and required regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements as well as financial standards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting workflows, reporting methods, and system utilization for greater efficiency.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff while fostering accountability and continued growth.
  • Provide leadership with financial guidance related to strategic priorities, including investments, expansion opportunities, and key banking relationships.
