Job Description:
Position Overview CLA has been exclusively retained by a well-established and growing manufacturing organization to find a talented Controller to join its leadership team. The company has built a strong reputation for innovation, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service within a specialized industrial market. With a commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement, the organization is recognized as a trusted partner throughout North America. The Controller will play a key role in the financial management of the organization, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while serving as a trusted business partner to ownership. This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, cash management, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and maintaining compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with leadership to support sound financial decision-making and long-term business success. What You'll Do Lead all accounting operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable Process invoices and billings in accordance with project and customer requirements Maintain accurate vendor records and foster strong vendor relationships Perform monthly account reconciliations and support the month-end close process Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements Partner with the organization's external CPA firm on local, state, and federal tax filings, regulatory reporting, and financial statement reviews Monitor cash flow, perform cash analysis, and ensure effective management of cash-related activities Oversee accounting systems, ledgers, and financial reporting processes in accordance with GAAP standards Support and oversee contract administration activities Work closely with ownership to monitor company performance and provide meaningful financial insights What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and accounting best practices Demonstrated ability to balance urgency with attention to detail and accuracy Experience identifying and monitoring key financial and operational metrics that drive profitability and performance Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across the organization
