Job Description

Messiah Lifeways seeks a dynamic financial leader to serve as VP Finance & Controller, guiding the organization's financial strategy and operations across the organization. This executive role blends hands-on financial management with strategic insight, leveraging data analytics to drive organizational performance and inform decision-making at the highest level. The VP Finance & Controller will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, partnering with vice presidents and C-suite executives to support organizational decision-making, resource allocation, new business ventures, and technology innovation. Key Responsibilities Champion the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools to enhance performance measurement and resource allocation. Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, audit preparation, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance across the organization. Ensure integrity and transparency in financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting automation, and predictive analytics capabilities. Provide clear, actionable insights to executives and board members through data visualization and storytelling. Lead and mentor the Finance team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth. Required Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, ERP systems). Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights. Proven leadership experience influencing cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders. Deep understanding of nonprofit financial management and resource optimization. Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA licensure preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including strategic planning and analytics. Experience in senior financial roles within mission-driven or multi-entity organizations strongly preferred.
