Job Description
Job Summary A growing Utility Construction Company based in Plymouth Meeting, PA is seeking a self-directed and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team immediately. This role is responsible for supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, and business analytics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Responsibilities Support with daily, monthly, and year-end accounting operations Maintain and analyze job costing data to ensure accurate project tracking and profitability Manage and reconcile Work-in-Process (WIP) schedules, including revenue recognition and cost allocation Review WIP reports and support month-end, Quarter end & year end revenue recognition Prepare and post month-end general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules Reconcile intercompany transactions across divisions Support fixed asset accounting, reporting, and audits Prepare financial statements and assist with the monthly, quarterly & annual close process Generate financial and profitability analyses (including gross margin reporting) Support with annual audits and provide documentation to external auditors Support tax preparation and coordinate with external tax firms Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations Maintain AR cash receipts and miscellaneous cash postings Review Accounts Payable and purchasing transactions for accuracy Manage P-Card transactions Complete internal reporting during monthly, quarterly and year end close Assist with ad hoc financial projects and other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Competitive salary (based on experience) Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) with eligibility after 60 days Generous paid time off + 7 paid holidays Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) with eligibility after 60 days Generous paid time off + 7 paid holidays Work Location On-site - Plymouth Meeting, PA Schedule Monday to Friday Full-time Equal Opportunity Employer We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity in our workforce.
