Job Description

Position Summary Laurel Capital Corporation provides commercial finance solutions for businesses (i.e. both taxable and tax-exempt ) clients. The Controller is a key finance leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and execution of Laurel Capital Corporation's financial operations. Reporting directly to an Owner/Partner, this role owns the full accounting lifecycle across the firm, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting and financial discipline. Primary Responsibilities Own all accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple related companies. Perform closing function, including journal entries and financial statement preparation. Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring GAAP compliance. Coordinate financial audit and tax planning/compliance with external accounting firm. Responsible for daily operations of a $550 million bank portfolio. Responsible for payroll and payroll tax deposits for multiple companies, including quarterly and year-end tax reporting. Group administrator of employee benefit and commercial insurance policies in coordination with insurance brokers. Group administrator of company profit sharing plan. Coordinate with outside IT consultant regarding technology changes and software compliance. Manage cash flow and liquidity planning through use of online banking and company's lines of credit. Support transaction execution, including customer/banking documentation review, spreadsheet amortization preparation and funding closure. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience managing close processes and multi-entity accounting High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to operate independently and work cross-functionally Experience with accounting processes across system and spreadsheet-based environments Experience in accounting and other financial reporting functions (preferred) A willingness to work in a privately-owned, closely held company that requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills with coworkers, customers and banks (preferred)
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
