Type:
full-time Assistant Controller, Private Capital New York, NY (Hybrid) Taylor Root is partnering with a leading private credit manager to hire an Assistant Controller in NYC. The firm lends to middle market sponsor backed companies and manages a broad suite of private funds. This seat owns the accounting and reporting for multiple private funds. It also plays a hands-on role in launching new funds and improving how the team works.
Responsibilities:
You will lead the accounting and reporting for multiple private funds and investment vehicles, in line with US GAAP and each fund's partnership agreement. You will operationalize complex partnership agreements, including investor capital accounts, partner allocations, and incentive fee arrangements. You will lead the calculation and booking of fund-level management fees, incentive fees and accruals. You will review monthly balance sheets, income statements and reporting packages across your funds. You will drive capital call and distribution analysis alongside Investor Communications, Treasury and senior leadership. You will manage the third-party administrator on NAV production for specific entities. You will support new fund launches, including reviewing legal documents, setting up month-end close processes, and working with the in-house technology team on the firm's proprietary systems. You will support the annual external audits and identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA is strongly preferred. 7+ years of accounting experience in financial services, such as private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or funds of funds Mix of public accounting and industry experience is a plus. Big 4 and national firm audit professionals with private fund clients are encouraged to apply.
