Job Description
Controller Our non-profit client is seeking a Controller for their team. This full-time, direct-hire role is perfect for a detail-oriented accountant who would enjoy managing the full accounting cycle for a small, mission-driven organization. Responsibilities of the Controller Manage a small team (2-3) of accounting professionals Perform monthly close for multiple entities Oversee AP, AR, and cash management activities Maintain accurate, compliant financial records Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for review by CFO Perform property-level accounting functions for affordable housing entities Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers as needed Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties to support the organization Qualifications of the Controller Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for full cycle accounting and month-end close Strong working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles Experience in affordable housing, LIHTC, or multi-entity real estate accounting preferred Experience with Yardi, Sage 50, or related software preferred Familiarity with VT and/or NH regulatory environments a plus Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills High degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail Strong analytical and reconciliation skills Please share your resume in confidence for this Controller opportunity offering the potential for a hybrid schedule, comprehensive benefits, and salary based on experience, ranging from $80K-$95K/year.
