Position:

This position is for a physical education teacher licensed to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade PE. This position will work collaboratively with a second PE teacher and does NOT include the teaching of health.

Hartford Memorial Middle School is a grade 6-8 school of approximately 300 students dedicated to the development of the 'whole' child. The successful applicant will: Hold a Vermont Physical Education Endorsement (3-08 Pk-12); Demonstrate knowledge of best practices in physical education curriculum, instruction, and assessment; Demonstrate strong understanding of middle level learners and the nature and needs of young adolescents; Demonstrate understanding of SHAPE Standards; Be open to or have experience with collaborating with team colleagues to create a dynamic learning environment; Have strong classroom management skills Demonstrate the ability to design and implement creative and inclusive physical activities that engage all students, regardless of skill level, and foster a lifelong interest in physical activity and wellness.
