The company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of five affiliated companies. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives on building efficient processes, leading an accounting team, and partnering closely with ownership to drive informed business decisions. As Controller, you will play a key role in shaping the financial future of a growing organization, working directly with the Owner and supporting continued expansion across multiple entities. Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations for five affiliated companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements. Maintain the general ledger and oversee journal entries. Perform account reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy. Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Monitor job costing and profitability for ongoing projects. Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation and year-end reporting. Manage banking relationships and oversee cash management activities. Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Oversee payroll processing and ensure accounting compliance. Supervise the Senior Bookkeeper and provide leadership to the accounting team. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation. Provide financial reporting and actionable recommendations to ownership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant preferred. Experience managing multiple companies or entities highly preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP. Advanced Excel skills. Experience with Aspire, INOVA, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
