Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join our team in Defiance, Ohio. This position plays a critical role in supporting plant operations through financial reporting, manufacturing cost analysis, inventory management, and operational decision support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operations, analyzing data, improving processes, and providing meaningful financial insights that support business success. What You'll Do Manage plant-level general ledger activities and month-end close responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial reports Perform manufacturing cost analysis, including labor and overhead accounting Analyze production costs, variances, and opportunities for improvement Support inventory accounting, including assembly builds and inventory reconciliations Organize and monitor cycle count activities to improve inventory accuracy Manage excess and obsolete inventory reserve analysis Perform milk accounting activities and related reconciliations Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 5+ years of accounting experience Manufacturing accounting experience required Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory processes Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Advanced Excel skills
