Job Description

Private Equity Vice President Overview Our client is a private, family-owned investment platform focused on building and operating high-quality assets across power, infrastructure, and real assets. The firm takes a long-term, hands-on approach, emphasizing operational improvement, sustainability, and disciplined growth. The investment strategy is centered around essential infrastructure and energy transition assets, including renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro), renewable fuels, and other mission-critical infrastructure businesses. The portfolio is characterized by stable, asset-based businesses with long-term contracts and strong cash flow profiles. Unlike traditional private equity, the platform operates as an active owner-operator, partnering closely with management teams to drive performance and execute value creation initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work as a hybrid investor/operator, with meaningful responsibility across portfolio operations, diligence, and deal sourcing. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Value Creation (Primary Focus)
  • Partner with portfolio company leadership teams to develop and implement value creation plans
  • Drive operational initiatives across key functions including:
  • Revenue growth (pricing, salesforce effectiveness, channel strategy)
  • Operational efficiency (process improvement, KPI tracking, cost reduction)
  • Organizational build-out (talent upgrades, leadership structuring)
  • Help implement data-driven performance management frameworks and reporting cadence
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, identify areas for improvement, and support execution of strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with executive teams on budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development Transaction Execution & Diligence
  • Support underwriting of new investments with a focus on operational diligence
  • Assess business quality, scalability, and key value creation levers during diligence
  • Develop post-close value creation plans and integration strategies
  • Collaborate with deal teams throughout the investment lifecycle Origination & Deal Sourcing
  • Contribute to sourcing efforts through proactive outreach and relationship development
  • Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, executives, and industry professionals
  • Identify actionable investment themes and sector opportunities aligned with the firm's strategy Qualifications
  • 6-10+ years of experience across private equity, consulting, corporate strategy, or operational roles within middle market businesses
  • Demonstrated experience driving operational or strategic initiatives within portfolio companies or corporate environments
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to engage on investment evaluation and underwriting
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with senior leadership teams
  • Highly analytical with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence without authority Preferred Background
  • Experience at a private equity firm with meaningful portfolio exposure
  • Background in consulting (strategy-focused or operational improvement)
  • Experience working within or alongside industrials, infrastructure, or asset-heavy businesses
  • Track record of implementing value creation initiatives (pricing, procurement, throughput optimization, etc.) What Makes This Role Unique
  • High exposure to both investment and operational decision-making
  • Ability to take a leading role in shaping value creation strategy across the portfolio
  • Lean team structure with direct access to senior leadership
  • Meaningful autonomy in both portfolio work and deal-related activities Profile We're Targeting
  • Operator-investor hybrid vs. traditional deal-only private equity professional
  • Comfortable being in the weeds with management teams
  • Motivated by driving tangible impact, not just underwriting
  • Interested in a long-term platform with increasing responsibility and ownership
