No Department Details Summary The Vice President, Revenue Cycle, Coding and HIM is responsible for enterprise leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of Sanford Health's mid-cycle revenue functions. This role ensures accurate clinical documentation, coding, charge capture, revenue integrity, and regulatory compliance while supporting timely and appropriate reimbursement across the health system. Job Description As a member of the enterprise revenue cycle leadership team, this leader works collaboratively with peer executives and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment across the full revenue cycle continuum. The Vice President is expected to lead with an enterprise mindset, drive standardization, reduce operational variation, support innovation, and advance strategies that improve performance across a large, complex health system. Provides enterprise leadership and oversight for mid revenue cycle functions, including health information management, coding operations, charge capture, and related functions. Establishes strategies to improve coding accuracy, documentation quality, reimbursement integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Partners with physician leaders, clinical teams, operational executives, finance, technology, compliance, and revenue cycle peers to strengthen alignment between clinical documentation, patient care delivery, and financial outcomes. Leads enterprise initiatives focused on reducing revenue leakage, improving quality reporting accuracy, optimizing reimbursement opportunities, and minimizing compliance risk. Develops standardized processes, governance structures, and performance expectations across hospitals, clinics, regions, and service lines. Advances technology, analytics, automation, and process improvement initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Develops and mentors revenue cycle leaders, building leadership capability, workforce engagement, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Health Information Management, or related field preferred. Extensive progressive leadership experience within healthcare revenue cycle, health information management, coding, clinical documentation improvement, revenue integrity, healthcare operations, or related functions required. Experience in a large integrated healthcare delivery system preferred. Must demonstrate strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, regulatory requirements, operational transformation, analytics, and executive-level collaboration.
