This role will oversee core accounting activities, strengthen reporting consistency across facilities, and deliver insights that support operational and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, manufacturing finance expertise, and the ability to partner effectively with leaders across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end close cycle, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting analyses. Evaluate financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow summaries, and related schedules to confirm accuracy and provide meaningful insight. Guide financial management activities across multiple manufacturing locations, promoting consistency in reporting and decision support. Administer intercompany accounting activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and resolved promptly. Establish and uphold uniform accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting practices across all plant operations. Assess plant-level performance, identify cost and operational trends, and recommend actions to improve margins, productivity, and overall efficiency. Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, fixed asset records, and depreciation processes within the manufacturing environment. Review variances related to labor, materials, freight, scrap, and overhead to uncover savings opportunities and support cost improvement efforts. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams on pricing, profitability, inventory management, and broader efficiency initiatives. Lead, develop, and evaluate the accounting team while fostering accountability and strong collaboration with operational leadership. Bachelor's degree required. Demonstrated background in financial analysis within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of accounting controls, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost accounting. Ability to interpret operating results and translate financial data into actionable business recommendations. Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, depreciation management, and working capital performance drivers. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable financial compliance standards.
