Job Description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cash management, and compliance activities for the organization. This hands-on leadership role will manage the day-to-day accounting function while partnering with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support business growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical accounting expertise, experience in multiple industries, and proficiency in modern ERP systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

Analyze financial results and provide meaningful reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.

Develop and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.

Internal Controls & ComplianceEstablish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, banking requirements, and company policies.

Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

Manage sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.

Support risk management initiatives and strengthen financial governance.

Budgeting & ForecastingLead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.

Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Develop financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Assist management with profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and cost management initiatives.

Cash Flow & Treasury ManagementManage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements.

Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury functions.

Monitor cash positions and recommend strategies to optimize liquidity.

Support debt compliance and financial covenant reporting.

Systems & Process ImprovementDrive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and finance processes.

Utilize ERP systems and technology to improve reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.

Lead system implementations, upgrades, and process automation projects.

Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial systems.

LeadershipRecruit, develop, mentor, and manage accounting staff.

Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with operational leaders to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership.
