Job Summary and Qualifications The Controller is responsible for the supervision of the Financial Activities and Accounting Department in the hospital. The Controller effectively performs the leadership, managerial, environment of care/infection control, performance improvement and departmental responsibilities. What you will do in this role: Organize, direct, and supervise accounting staff. Oversee staff orientation, education, and competency programs. Manage month end closings and both internal and external audits. Ensure financial information and financial reports are consistent with corporate policy and GAAP. Coordinate departmental performance and quality programs. Review and assist with the preparation of external reports, including AHCA, HFCA, state, federal and local authorities. Maintain responsibility for all other daily activities of the Accounting Department and performing special projects as directed by the CFO and other Administrative staff.
What qualifications you will need:
College Degree in Accounting required. 3 years experience in healthcare accounting strongly preferred. Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the use of personal computers. TriStar Summit is a 230+ bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full array of acute care services. These include cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI. We are a Primary Stroke Center.
