The Controller will lead all accounting and financial operations across multiple business sites within a manufacturing and assembly environment. This role is responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, oversight of cost accounting, and driving operational financial performance. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting to the Director of Finance. Key Responsibilities Own and lead all general ledger and financial reporting activities across multiple business sites on timely basis Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and all regulatory/tax requirements Lead and continuously improve month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Drive cost accounting excellence including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost roll accuracy Partner with operations and plant leadership to analyze manufacturing performance, margins, and cost drivers Oversee inventory accounting including valuation, controls, physical inventories, and cycle count programs Ensure BOMs, routings, and labor standards are accurate and aligned with operational reality Lead capital expenditure evaluation including ROI and payback analysis Own internal controls environment and ensure audit readiness from strong control design and execution Provide leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning Drive financial insights and KPI reporting to support operational decision-making Oversee fixed assets, including capital tracking and depreciation Ensure strong working capital management including AR, inventory, and cash flow Standardize and improve processes across business sites and drive ERP optimization Provide analysis and review of projects in conjunction with sales and operations personnel Completion of annual insurance or industry surveys Develop procedures that ensure accurate and complete information is transmitted to vendors Ensure procedures for receipt of purchased items are followed Maintains and supervises accounting team through recruiting, selecting, training, coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, and training Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience Minimum 3 years in manufacturing with strong cost accounting focus Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance Strong ERP experience, Made2Manage experience preferred Advanced Excel and Financial Analysis Effective communication, leadership, and business partnering abilities Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership Travel required 10-20% Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
