Controller

Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team in Grand Prairie, Texas. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail and expertise in financial management and accounting operations. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic wholesale distribution company while implementing and maintaining efficient financial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee comprehensive accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Complete monthly financial close processes and generate accurate reports within strict timeframes.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and address historical discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and effective tax planning.
• Manage payroll and benefits administration, including oversight of retirement plans such as 401K.
• Design and sustain financial reporting systems to support strategic decision-making.
• Establish and document robust accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Assist in optimizing reporting and system functionalities within the organization's ERP software. Requirements
• Proven experience with general ledger management and financial statement preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation techniques.
• Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration, including retirement plans.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining financial systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with external tax advisors and other stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems and their reporting capabilities.
