Job Description

Description Percheron is seeking a proactive and strategic Assistant Controller to support the financial management team by assisting with daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role bridges operational execution and strategic oversight, contributing to accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Manage daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and journal entries. Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support internal and external audits. Support tax return preparation. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations. Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Maintain and improve internal control systems. Coordinate with the Controller on financial planning and reporting. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 5 or more years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficient in accounting software. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience in audit preparation and multi-state tax compliance. Familiarity with ERP systems and process automation tools. Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively as a team player. Strong attention to detail with excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with the manager (may require working an adjusted schedule or overtime based on project assignments). Ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. Work Environment and Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
