This consultant will be working for a mid-sized distribution company in West Houston looking for an Interim Controller to lead their accounting functions for the next 2 to 4 months. In this role, you will keep our daily financial operations running smoothly and guide our small, dedicated accounting team during a transitional time in the department: location: Katy, Texas job type: Contract salary: $60 - 85 per hour work hours: 8 to 5 education: Bachelor's degree experience: 10 Years responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and cash flow management. Lead the month-end close process and prepare financial statements. Manage inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliations. Provide direct leadership and support to our small accounting team. Partner with company leadership to deliver clear financial insights.
qualifications:
Must have strong MS Excel 5+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller with preference for background in distribution, logistics, or inventory-heavy industries. Strong, hands-on knowledge of inventory accounting and ERP systems. A collaborative, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a small-team environment. Ability to commit to a 2-4 month, full-time, in-office assignment in West Houston. Active CPA or CMA is a plus, but proven experience is our priority.
