This growing, San Antonio oil field services company is adding a Controller to the team. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a strategic thinker who wants to lead process improvements, work with operations and executive management, and who thrives on being a constant learner in a team environment. This position leads the monthly close process, supervising accounting staff, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial analysis. This person will also work with management to have fun finding ways to automate by leveraging AI tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and continuously improve the monthly and annual close processes including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
• Assist in the preparation of the financial statements.
• Supervise, mentor and develop the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll teams.
• Partner with operations to ensure accurate and timely recording of all revenue, cost, and financial transactions.
• Coordinate the annual audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and address complex accounting issues.
• Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Assist in the preparation of the budget and various forecasts.
• Prepare financial analysis of company performance overall.
• Identify and implement process and AI automation improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or a senior role in industry.
• Robust ERP experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Comfort leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline accounting, analysis, and financial reporting.
• Driven person who wants to continue to progress their career in accounting.
